Sohail Ramirez

Senior Associate General Counsel

Sohail joined the Yale Investments Office and the Office of the General Counsel in February 2016.  He is a member of YIO’s legal team and focuses on the venture capital portfolio, assists with regulatory matters, and serves on the DEI Committee.  Sohail received his Bachelor of Arts in both History and Philosophy from Fordham University in 2006, and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2010.  Prior to joining Yale, he was an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.  Sohail was previously on the board of the Dominican Bar Association.  He teaches Introduction to Legal Analysis and Writing at Yale Law School and is a Fellow of Berkeley College.

Why did you join the Yale Investments Office?

The Yale Investments Office provided me the opportunity to continue growing as an investment management lawyer and work with some incredibly smart people while supporting all the good that Yale does for the world.

What is your favorite restaurant in New Haven?

New Haven has a vibrant restaurant scene beyond its famous pizza spots.  Gioia is a recent favorite.
