Investing in Yale's Future

The Yale Investments Office is responsible for managing Yale University’s Endowment. The Endowment is sustained by generous gifts from donors and earnings generated through Yale’s disciplined, long-term investment approach. Spending from the Endowment supports the educational experience of current students as well as generations of students to come.

“The intern and analyst programs at the Yale Investments Office present unparalleled opportunities to get a broad introduction to investing, to learn from the University’s brilliant investment managers, and to work alongside immensely kind and talented colleagues, all while supporting one of the world’s leading institutions of research and learning.” Matt Mendelsohn ’07

“Even though my internship with the YIO was remote, the kindness and intellectual curiosity of the entire team was tangible through the screen. Now, having joined after graduating, I have benefitted tremendously from being in-person (and traveling abroad!) with a team that values mentorship, healthy skepticism, and continuous learning.” Grace Foley '22

"The opportunities for learning and professional development at the YIO are unlike any other, spanning technical training to interactions that have strengthened my investment understanding and judgment. It has been endlessly rewarding to work on a team that values intellectual rigor, creativity, community, and kindness." Joyce Koltisko '18

“I learn something new every day. It is fascinating to discuss investments spanning the world with exceptionally talented investors who are passionate about their craft. I love helping managers who are early in the process of launching their funds think through foundational issues. Being able to walk to work is an added perk!” Xinchen Wang ‘09

“When I stumbled into the YIO internship, I had no idea what was to come. How was I to know how much I’d learn from the YIO’s incredible team or the role my voice would play in critical investment decisions? What an adventure it’s been. I’ve traveled the world and made life-long friends, all while supporting an institution close to my heart.” John T. Ryan ‘14

“The Investments Office provides a fantastic opportunity to work alongside talented investment professionals. As an intern, I took advantage of this by asking questions and engaging in thoughtful discussions. After joining full-time, I have gotten the opportunity to continue learning while putting my newfound knowledge to use.” Vishal Patel ‘20
